This wine would never happen in Europe. Gewürztraminer is from the North. Albariño is from the Southwest. And never the twain shall meet. However, the Central Coast of California is one of those rare places with the climatic diversity to produce both these varieties within about a 100-mile radius. So we took advantage of that. The Albariño adds a bit of roundness and fruit flavors while the skin-fermented Gewürztraminer allowed us to fine-tune the aromatics, flavors and texture.
